Drug Uses - Atarax is used to relieve anxiety and tension caused by psychoneurosis and in addition when treating organic disease states in which anxiety is developed.

How Taken - Adults should take 50-100 mg daily, children under 6 years - 50 mg daily in divided doses, children over 6 years - 50-100 mg daily in divided doses.

Warnings/Precautions - There is no reliable data whether Atarax passes into breast milk. Be careful when taking Atarax if you are pregnant.

Missed Dose - You should take the missed dose as soon as you remember and then follow your usual schedule. Nevertheless, if it is near to the time for your next dose, do not take an extra tablet to catch up for the dose you forgot. Wait and take your next tablet at the regular time. Do not take a double dose.

Possible Side Effects - Typical side effects are dry mouth and drowsiness.

Storage - Store Atarax in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight. It should be kept out of reach of children.

Overdose - The typical sign of overdosage is hypersedation. This state requires immediate medical attention.
