Drug Uses - Buspar is taken in order to treat generalized anxiety disorder. It may also be used for treating other conditions as well. Buspar active components influence imbalance of chemicals in your brain that are causing anxiety.

How Taken - Take Buspar exactly as prescribed. Your condition will become better in 7-10 days after the treating begins. It may take 3-4 weeks for full recovering. Take Buspar with food or milk if you experience upset stomach.

Warnings/Precautions - Tell your doctor if you experience kidney or liver disease and if you are allergic to any drug before taking Buspar. Avoid taking alcohol as it increases effects of dizziness and/or drowsiness. Be careful when driving as your alertness may decrease. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or are breast-feeding a baby, as Buspar may pass into breast milk.

Missed Dose - You should take the missed dose as soon as you remember and then follow your usual schedule. Nevertheless, if it is near to the time for your next dose, do not take an extra tablet to catch up for the dose you forgot. Wait and take your next tablet at the regular time. Do not take a double dose.

Possible Side Effects - Taking Buspar may be the reason of drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, weakness, vivid dreams, sleeplessness, dry skin, blurred vision, altered sense of taste and smell, weight gain, muscle aches, ringing in the ears, nausea, and headaches, abnormal movements or "twitches" of the face or neck muscles, other involuntary movements or tremors, depression, confusion, incoordination, chest pain, breathing difficulties. Consult with your doctor if you experience any of these side effects.

Storage - Store Buspar in tightly closed container at room temperature away from heat and moisture. Buspar should be kept out of the reach of children.

Overdose - The typical signs of Buspar overdosage are nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, and decreased pupil size. It requires immediate medical attention.

More Information - Consult with your doctor if you are taking other drugs for anxiety or depression, azole or macrolide antibiotics, haloperidol, narcotic pain medications. You should not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice. Take other medicines only after talking to your doctor.
