Drug Uses - Flonase is intended for relieving multiple nasal symptoms of congestion, sneezing, and itchy, runny nose. Flonase Nasal Spray is used topically on the nasal mucosa by atomizing spray pump.

How Taken - Use Flonase as prescribed by your doctor. You should use Flonase regularly. Adults should use 2 sprays (50 mcg each) in each nostril once a day every day. You may also divide the dose in half and use the medicine twice a day. In a few days of using Flonase you may need to reduce the dose to 100 mcg (one spray in a nostril) a day. Use 200 mcg once daily if you suffer seasonal allergic rhinitis.

Warnings/Precautions - Consult with your doctor if you experience any viral, bacterial, or fungal infection. It may also happen that you are not able to use Flonase as it may decrease your immunity. Flonase is in the FDA pregnancy category C. There is no reliable data whether Flonase is deleterious to an unborn baby. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or if you are breast-feeding a baby, as Flonase passes into breast milk.

Missed Dose - You should take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Nevertheless, if it is near to the time for your next dose, do not take an extra tablet to catch up for the dose you forgot. Wait and take your next tablet at the regular time. Do not take a double dose.

Possible Side Effects - Stop taking Flonase and seek medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of your throat, swelling of your lips, tongue, face or hives). Continue taking Flonase and contact your doctor in case you experience stinging or burning of the nose; sneezing after application; yeast infection in the nose or throat (white patches); bleeding nose; perforated septum (inside left of nose); increased pressure in the eyes, glaucoma, or tearing of the eyes; headache or lightheadedness; nausea; cough; asthma symptoms; nasal stuffiness or a runny nose; or unpleasant (or loss of) taste or smell. Other side effects may also occur.

Storage - Store at 4° - 30°C (39° and 86°F). Flonase should be kept out of the reach of children.

Overdose - There is no reliable data about Flonase overdosage. Seek immediate medical attention.

More Information - Do not contact with any allergens. Avoid contacts with people who suffer from chicken pox, measles, or any other infection as your immune system may be rather weak to prevent infection.
