Drug Uses -
Motrin is used to relief mild to moderate pain of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It may be prescribed by your doctor for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.
How Taken -
The total daily dose (3200 mg) should not be exceeded. If you suffer from gastrointestinal toxicity, take Mortin with food or milk.
Warnings/Precautions -
Do not take Motrin if you previously had hypersensitivity to the medicine, or suffer from the syndrome of nasal polyps, angioedema and bronchospastic reactivity to aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents. You should know that serious gastrointestinal toxicity (bleeding, ulceration, and perforation) can occur at any time with or without warning symptoms.
Missed Dose -
In case you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But don't take extra dose in situation when you forget to take a tablet and it is near the time for the next intake. Wait and take next dose according to the schedule. Try not to double the dose to make up.
Possible Side Effects -
Gastrointestinal reaction is the most common side effect while taking Motrin. Besides blurred and/or diminished vision, scotoma and changes in vision (especially, color sensitivity) may be observed.
Storage -
Motrin should be stored at controlled indoor temperature 20 to 25 °C (68 to 77°F).
Overdose -
If overdose occurs empty the stomach by vomiting. Seek emergency immediately.
More Information -
In case you have signs of gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding, blurred vision or other eye symptoms, skin rash, weight gain, or edema, consult with your doctor.
