Drug Uses -
Nasacort is prescribed to treat the nasal symptoms of allergy (seasonal and all-the-year-round). This drug is FDA approved and helps to relieve nasal congestion, itchy runny nose, and sneezing. Nasacort Nasal Spray is an unscented, thixotropic, water-based metered-dose pump spray formulation unit. It contains a microcrystalline suspension of triamcinolone acetonide in an aqueous medium.
How Taken -
The form of Nasacort is a nasal spray to inhale through the nose. It is used one to four times a day at evenly spaced intervals. Blow your nose before using Nasacort to clear your nasal passages. Try to avoid blowing your nose at least for 15 minutes after using Nasacort Nasal Spray.
Warnings/Precautions -
You are not able to inhale Nasacort Nasal Spray if you have an infection. Consult with your doctor before using spray because this drug can decrease the ability of human body to fight against infections. Nasacort Nasal Spray is in the FDA pregnancy C. It is not clear whether Nasacort Nasal Spray is detrimental to an unborn baby. You should consult with your doctor before taking Nasacort if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment or if you are breast-feeding a baby, as it is not known whether Nasacort passes into breast milk. Do not use Nasacort Nasal Spray for children younger than 12 years old.
Missed Dose -
Take Nasacort regularly. If you miss a dose, inhale it as soon as possible. However, don't take extra dose if you have forgotten to take a dose and it is near the time for the next intake. Wait and take next dose according to the dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up.
Possible Side Effects -
The side effects of Nasacort are irritation, burning, or dryness of the nasal passages. Sneezing, nosebleed, headache, lightheadedness, loss of taste, throat irritation or nausea may be also obtained. Besides there are some unconvincing data about persistent nose or throat irritation/soreness, white patchy areas, broken or damaged nasal membranes, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness, vision changes while using Nasacort. In these or any other cases contact your doctor.
Storage -
Nasacort Spray should be stored at controlled indoor temperature 20 to 25 °C (68 to 77°F) out of direct sunlight and humidity. Avoid freezing. It must be kept out of the reach of children.
Overdose -
It is not likely to overdose this medication. In case an overdose is suspected, seek emergency immediately.
More Information -
Avoid allergens. Keep the cleanness. Try to keep off sources of infection because your immune system may not be able to fight against infection while using Nasacort. Stay away from people with any infection (chicken pox, measles etc).
