Drug Uses -
Nizoral is used for the treatment of systemic fungal infections or for other conditions determined by your doctor. Be careful Nizoral Tablets are not used for the treatment of fungal meningitis.
How Taken -
Nizoral is taken once a day until the infection has disappeared. In case you have serious infection, the daily dosage may be increased by your doctor.
Warnings/Precautions -
If you have signs that may indicate liver dysfunction such as fatigue, anorexia, nausea and/or vomiting, jaundice, dark urine or pale stools you should consult with your doctor and appropriate biochemical testing can be done. Nizoral may influence your metabolism.
Missed Dose -
In case you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But don't take extra dose in situation when you forget to take a tablet and it is near the time for the next intake. Wait and take next dose according to the schedule. Try not to double the dose to make up.
Possible Side Effects -
The next side effects may occur while taking Nizoral: fever and chills; skin rash or itching; fever and sore throat; dark or amber urine; loss of appetite; pale stools; reddening. If you experience such symptoms, stop taking this medicine and consult with your doctor.
Storage -
Nisoral should be stored at indoor temperature 15°-25°C (59°-77°F) out of humidity.
Overdose -
Constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea, vomiting are the typical symptoms of a Nizoral overdosage. In case an overdose is suspected, seek emergency.
