Drug Uses -
Temovate cream helps to reduce itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions. It is a topical anti-inflammatory medication for practically every skin type and has a few side effects.
How Taken -
A thin layer of Temovate cream should be applied to the affected areas twice a day. Dry the affected areas before applying this medicine. It should be gently rubbed in until it is evenly distributed. Do not bandage or wrap the affected area unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Avoid contact with the eyes. In case the medicine gets into your eyes, wash your eyes with a lot of water. Follow the recommendations strictly.
Warnings/Precautions -
Consult with your doctor if you have no improvements or your condition worsens. Temovate is not used for the treatment of infection. Temovate is in the FDA pregnancy C. It is not clear whether Temovate is detrimental to an unborn baby. You should consult with your doctor before taking Temovate if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment or if you are breast-feeding a baby, because it is not known whether Temovate passes into breast milk.
Missed Dose -
In case you have missed a dose, take it as soon as possible. But don't take extra dose in situation when you forget to take a tablet and it is near the time for the next intake. Wait and take the next dose according to the schedule. Do not take double dose.
Possible Side Effects -
Serious systemic side effects are not likely to occur. In case you apply a large amount of Temovate, you may have blurred vision, halos around lights, an irregular heartbeat, insomnia, mood changes, weight gain, or fatigue. Tell your doctor in case you have any of these or other unusual side effects. Less serious side effects are more likely to occur. You may have redness, blistering, burning, itching, or peeling. In this situation continue taking Temovate and consult with your doctor. You may also experience thinning of the skin, prolonged redness and stretch marks. You should talk to your doctor about any unusual or especially bothersome side effect.
Storage -
Temovate should be stored at indoor temperature away from moisture and sunlight in a tightly closed container. Keep it out of the reach of children. Do not keep Temovate in the bathroom. Throw away Temovate if it is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose -
Temovate overdose may lead to Cushing's syndrome. In case an overdose is suspected, seek emergency.
More Information -
Plastic bandages, dressings or diapers prevent air to circulate to the area and can greatly increase the absorption of Temovate. Do not use them unless your doctor recommends you to do so. An occlusive dressing should not be used for more than 12 hours a day. Do not use other topical products on the treated area, unless otherwise recommended by your doctor.
