Xenical
120 mg 90 Caps 26700

Drug Uses - Xenical is used to decrease body weight and maintain weight loss. This drug blocks absorption of fat in your intestines. Then it is eliminated in your bowel movements. It is recommended to take Xenical together with a reduced-calorie diet. Weight loss effects take place only as long as you are taking this medicine.

How Taken - Xenical is a capsule to be taken orally tree times a day with food. Follow prescribed recommendations strictly. Do not excess or diminish recommended dose. You should follow a diet consisting of daily intake of fat (30% of total calories), carbohydrates, and protein. It should be distributed evenly over 3 main meals.

Warnings/Precautions - If you have a chronic malabsorption syndrome, or gallbladder problems, do not use Xenical without medical consultation. Before taking Xenical you should tell your doctor the next information: if you have a history of kidney stones, have diabetes, anorexia or bulimia, take any other weight-loss medicine, or take cyclosporine. In such conditions you may not be able to take Xenical or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment. Xenical is in the FDA pregnancy category B. It is not expected to be detrimental to an unborn baby. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or if you are breast-feeding a baby, as Xenical passes into breast milk.

Missed Dose - In case you miss a dose, take Xenical at the next meal. Do not take an extra dose. Do not double the dose.

Possible Side Effects - In case you have a rare allergic reaction including shortness of breath; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, face or hives stop taking Xenical and seek emergency. Continue using Xenical but consult with your doctor if you have oily spotting, gas with discharge, an urgent need to go to the bathroom, oily or fatty stools, an oily discharge, an increased number of bowel movements, an inability to control bowel movements, or orange or brown colored oil in your stool. The bowel changes mentioned above are normal. They show a natural effect of blocking fat and indicate that Xenical is working properly. These effects disappear if you follow a diet containing 30% fat. Other effects may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effects.

Storage - Xenical should be stored at room temperature in a tightly closed container, out of direct sunlight. Avoid humidity. It must be kept out of the reach of children.

Overdose - In such case an overdose is suspected, seek emergency. Typical symptoms of a Xenical overdose are not known.

More Information - Your body's absorption of some fat-soluble vitamins while taking Xenical may also decrease. You may take multivitamin complexes once a day, at least 2 hours before or after a dose of Xenical. You should follow a prescribed diet containing no more than about 30% of calories from fat.
